The Experiment Continues

During the 2008 election, I discovered I would get upset when reading technical bloggers writing about politics (how could someone so smart be so stupid?!). I figured I was causing the same distress in my readers, or just losing readers, so I started Impolite Company. Whether or not people chose to read me, I would have an outlet for writing on politics.

Then a strange thing happened. I lost interest. Maybe because I was burnt out, maybe because I’m a sore loser (I don’t think so; I continue to wish Obama the best of luck, with as little sarcasm as possible). It all seems so futile. Does it make sense to discuss politics in a system that had congressional approval ratings in the teens yet incumbent reelection rates in the nineties? What are voters smoking? So, I withdrew.

With the federal government attempting to “reform” our health care system, it’s hard to remain silent. So I’m back. You can also follow me on my new political Twitter account, Impolite Company.

For all other topics, you can still find me at blogan.net and on Twitter, as blogan.

Did you get burnt out after the 2008 election? Are you back in the game?

Quote of the Day — Scott Adams

There will be an election, followed by rioting, the complete unraveling of society, and, I assume, a zombie problem. And everyone will agree it’s an improvement. —Scott Adams
