Kenny Kinds has opened up for Dave Chappelle and some other big names.  We talked a lot about Steely Dan and Black Panther.   We could have talked longer.

Beginning next week, we’re going to keep the intro portion to 5 minutes, so we have more time for our guest interviews.  You deserve more time to get to know our guests.  Thanks for your input.

Impolite Company: Episode Eleven – 2/15/2018 – Angela Smith

Impolite Company: Episode Six – 2/8/2018 – Reena Calm

When Reena Calm comes to town, it’s an event.  Literally, it’s an event. That’s why she came to town.   She’s not coming here to order mozzarella sticks at a White Castle. They have White Castle in Chicago, where she’s based.  She’s here today for a special show at The Duck Room, benefiting Planned Parenthood and celebrating the birth of Comedy Here’s Kelsey McClure. Go to the show.  Reena’s hilarious and I stole the picture for this from her Instagram.  She can technically sue me for that.

We discuss puns, weird three a.m. habits, mispronouncing her feature comic’s name, and who exactly IS Renee Clam.

Also of note, my sinuses are getting better, but you can still hear me breath, and I had pulled my headphones out at the end, and didn’t know Producer Giamatti was playing the outro music as I started a new bit. But whatever.  We were having fun, and if I want to steal two extra hours from St. Louis Live, THEY CAN’T STOP ME!

Impolite Company: Episode One – 2/1/2018 – Yale Hollander

If you’re a regular St. Louis Live listener, you know Yale Hollander from his amazingly effective morning promotional texts, letting listeners know about his upcoming shows.  I decided he needed an hour to promote those shows. I had a lot of fun talking with him this morning.  Go see him host The Improv Shop Showcase this Saturday night at The Improv Shop.

In addition to Yale’s upcoming shows, we discussed food, how tired I was, the lie that is McDonald’s “Open for Breakfast” sign, and restaurants you can’t go to anymore.

Special thanks to Yale for being my first guest on Impolite Company’s morning wake-up hour.  It’s a bit harder than being a hairdresser’s first client, or a surgeon’s first patient, since no one can step in and help when I go off the rails.  Yale was fun and engaging while I learned where the buttons are, where the clock is, and that I should start breathing through my nose. Thanks to We Are Live for letting me play in their sandbox.

Keep listening to how this show evolves into what I think will be a fun look at the local comedy scene, and St. Louis in general.  And tune in tomorrow when my guest will be Funny Bone regular feature, Scott James.  And visit our sponsors, The Crack Fox and The Crow’s Nest!
